How-To Use Stampin' Blends to Colour Silver & Gold Designer Series Paper

The Silver & Gold 6x6 DSP is really pretty but lacks some colour. The best thing about this paper is that you can add your own colour very easily! For today's card you'll learn how to use the Stampin' Blends to colour the Silver & Gold Designer Series Paper (DSP). I hadn't tried using Stampin' Blends with this paper before and I love how it turned out!
The first step is deciding what colours to use. Because this is a Christmas card I decided to go the green route. Out came my pile of green Stampin' Blends! What are Stampin' Blends? They are high-quality alcohol markers that are sold in a combo pack that has a dark shade and a light shade, for an amazing colour blending experience. When choosing colours I used a few small strips of the DSP to figure out what order looked best. The colours on this card from left to right are: Mint Macaron dark, Shaded Spruce light, Bermuda Bay light, Granny Apple Green light and Mossy Meadow light. I suggest using the light Blends first and add in the dark if the colour isn't what you were expecting. Tip: Start from the lightest shade you have, I started on the left side with Mint Macaron. When done adding the second colour take the first colour and colour over the joining line. This will blend the colours a bit making the different colour less harsh.
To finish the card I pulled out the cure Handmade Wished stamp and punch because it has some wonderful greetings with different fonts that you can mix and match for tags to put onto homemade treats or add to your holiday cards. I changed up the direction of the merry stamp as it is designed to be curved as shown in the photo below but I was able to mostly straighten the stamp as I put the it on a clear block. You can change the shape a little for some photopolymer stamps as the material is bendy where the red rubber stamp aren't able to be shaped when putting them on a block.
The Handmade Wishes bundle includes the Handmade Wishes Photopolymer stamp set and Handmade Tag Punch. When you purchase these two items as a bundle you save 10% off the price of buying the stamp and punch separately. Plus, bundles will help you quickly cut out stamped images for a single project or create multiples of the same project with ease. This bundle is $50.25 and you would need to choose $9.75, such as the Tear & Tape adhesive, to reach $60, then you can choose the Silver & Gold DSP for free.

Create a Christmas Card Using the Santa Express Memories & More Card Pack

Have you started thinking about Christmas cards or making them yet? I figured that if I can make at least one or two Christmas cards each month that means there are less I need to make come November when I look at the list I'm sending cards to! An easy way to create Christmas Card is using the Santa Express Memories & More Card Pack.
This card pack includes multiples of the cards. In total there are 54 cards: 6 each of 6 designs in 3" x 4" and 6 each of 3 designs in 4" x 6". The card pack also includes 2 sheets of stickers, 4 acetate overlays, and 2 laser-cut sheets to embellish your projects.
This easy card was created using the card pack along with the red card from the Memories & More Cards & Envelopes. You can create 20 cards really easy with these two products and can add other items from the Santa Express Suite if you'd like. May I suggest the coordinating designer series paper? For today's card I layered the candy cane card onto the card base. The cards are 4.25" x 6.25" so that you don't have to cut down the 4" x 6" card from the card pack. The sentiment "it's the most wonderful time of the year" is cut from one of the 3" x 4" cards. I'm keeping the top part of the card that has a pile of presents on it for another project. Not sure what the project is but it's nice to keep the pieces for when you think of the best use of it! That's where the red and white stripe strip is from, another project that I trimmed down a 4" x 6" card. For the white tag you could use some Basic White cardstock but I used the center of one card to die cut using one of the labels from the Seasonal Labels dies. What do you think of this card?

Scrapbooking with Today is the Day Memories & More Card Pack

Scrapbooking is what introduced me to Stampin' Up!. My friend, Andrea, shared that I could use stamps and ink to make embellishments for my scrapbook layouts instead of trying to find the right sticker! Over the years I've switched from what I call "normal layouts" like today's layout to pocket pages. Scroll on through this post to see how scrapbooking with Today is the Day Memories & More Card Pack can make it easier to craft layouts.
Using a Memories & More card pack is very different from using a pack of designer series paper when crafting a 12" x 12" scrapbook layout. One trick is to take either two 3" x 4" cards or one 4" x 6" card to put on either side of a photo like I did above. The grid paper style is a 4" x 6" card cut at 1.5" on the long side. There's a video below to see learn to create this layout.
The white card with the leaves on it was coloured using the Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends. Just to add a little colour to the card and I wasn't worried about colouring outside the lines. Tip: pick a stamp set you like that looks good with the cards you've chosen for your layout. Then you can stamp directly onto some of the cards or onto your base layer of your layout.
